This conference discusses the value of soft skills in various contexts and at different governance levels, by sharing experiences across sectors and MRSs, and exploring their contribution to the achievement of EUSALP cross-cutting priorities.
The first session introduces the 2022 Study “Tools and guidelines for the identification and assessment of a set of soft skills related to work-based learning and to the development of Alpine economy” as well as the draft results of the second phase of the project, consisting in the development of materials and methodologies for the assessment of three selected soft skills (with reference to the ESCO-t pillar classification, T2.4 thinking creatively and innovatively; T4.1 communicating; T4.3 collaborating in teams and networks) in work-based learning contexts, as foreseen in the 2023-2025 work plan of EUSALP Action Group 3.

In the second session a panel discussion focuses on the relevance of soft skills for the achievement of EUSALP cross-cutting priorities and the contribution of Action Group 3 to this end.
The third session deals with the experiences and activities that other MRSs (Macro-Regional Strategies) have on soft skills; and the final session addresses the cross-sectoral character of soft skills, which are relevant both for mountain and maritime professions, and thus suitable for creating and/or reinforcing synergies between the mountain and maritime areas of the Alpine region.
