The EUSALP Youth Council will meet in Liechtenstein to prepare for 2024

News

The EUSALP Youth Council will meet in Liechtenstein to work on its projects for the Alpine region. Indeed, from January 12 to 14, 2024, 10 members from the 7 states of the Alpine region will travel to Schaan for one of their internal meetings.

Liechtenstein is an active member of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region, also called  “EUSALP”.

EUSALP has made a concerted effort to involve younger generations in this international cooperation strategy. Through the Youth Council, 28 young residents of the Alpine region can engage in making their voices heard and contribute to the work of EUSALP for a more resilient and sustainable region in the future.

Several objectives have been set for this internal meeting of the members of the EUSALP Youth Council in Liechtenstein.

First and foremost, it is essential to ensure that the activities of the Youth Council align with the priorities of EUSALP and the Slovenian Presidency's focus for the year 2024. A presentation of the schedule and these priorities will be provided before initiating the organization of the thematic working groups within EUSALP.

Furthermore, in anticipation of the upcoming EUSALP presidency in 2025, to be jointly held by Liechtenstein and Austria, our aim is to invite local organizations so that they can become acquainted with our initiatives and establish an initial connection with our Youth Council.

We would also like to engage in discussions regarding one of the central themes of 2024, which is the quality of life in the Alps, as well as the initiatives undertaken by EUSALP in recent years.
