CERVINO Project Webinar - Energy Data management in the EUSALP region

AG 9: ENERGY

The CERVINO project convened an online webinar on February 23rd, serving as a platform to showcase its significant accomplishments and unveil the CERVINO platform. Central to its objectives was the establishment of an advanced Energy Data Management Tool, aimed at enhancing data collection, processing, and visualization for the benefit of decision-makers across the EUSALP regions.

The webinar commenced with an introductory presentation by Stefan DREXLMEIER (Energiewende Oberland), providing an overview of the event and offering insights into the project's historical achievements through a curated trailer.

Subsequently, Nuno MADEIRA (Interreg Alpine Space) elaborated on the rationale behind the decision to co-finance the CERVINO project, highlighting its alignment with the EU’s Cohesion Policy objectives of mitigating regional disparities and enhancing territorial performance. He also introduced the concept of 'small-scale projects,' positioning CERVINO within this framework.

Francesca VERARDO (Divisione Energia, Agenzia Regionale Ligure) expanded on the primary objectives of the CERVINO project. Beginning in September 2022 and now in its final month, the project aimed to facilitate energy data exchange within the Alpine territory. VERARDO emphasized the pivotal role of reliable data in shaping energy policy decisions, highlighting the project's efforts to enhance past energy surveys. She reiterated the platform's purpose as a practical tool for political decision-makers in Alpine regions, aiding in informed policy formulation and implementation.

Živa MAJERIČ VOVK (Energy Agency of Savinjska, Šaleška, and Koroška region) provided insights into the evolution of the EUSALP Energy Survey, emphasizing CERVINO's contributions to modernizing the survey methodology to meet contemporary standards.

Valentina D’ALONZO (EURAC) discussed the CERVINO project's contribution, focusing on the development of the web-based platform. This platform integrates energy data from targeted regions for potential updates in the EUSALP Energy Survey. She emphasized its user-friendliness and outlined the steps for data submission.

Matthieu DENOUX (AURA-EE) presented the Alpine Energy Data platform, based on data collected through the EURAC´s data collection tool. He highlighted its role in importing and visualizing energy data, offering map-based indicators and dashboards. Denoux emphasized the platform's open-source nature and its potential for meeting local authorities' needs in managing energy transitions.
In a comprehensive conclusion,

Silvia BOVIO (Divisione Energia, Agenzia Regionale Ligure) delineated CERVINO's strategic roadmap, outlining key milestones aimed at establishing the Alpine Energy Observatory. Her detailed insights underscored the project's long-term commitment to sustainability and impactful outcomes.
