On the 18th of May EUSALP Action Group 3 ‘Labour market, Education and Training’ will gather in Brussels to debate on the future of Higher Vocational Education and Training.
In the morning, a working session of the Group will be hosted by the office of the Representation of the European Region Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino in Brussels. AG3 members will talk about the progress of current projects and envision future activities that foster the creation of a common labour market and learning space in the EUSALP area.
In the afternoon, it is foreseen the institutional high-level conference “Fostering cooperation in Higher Vocational Education and Training (HVET) in the EUSALP area”, organised in collaboration with the Lombardy Region and under the patronage of the 2022 EUSALP Presidency.
The conference will gather key actors operating at the European and national levels and aims to launch the debate towards a future adoption of a pact for HVET in line with the European Skills Agenda and the European Strategy for Higher Education. A technical panel will discuss the added value of cooperating on higher education for its implications in terms of inclusion, mobility, digitalisation, lifelong learning, knowledge transfer and sharing. It is foreseen the intervention of the EU Commission (DG Education, Youth, Culture and Sport), the European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL) and experts in the field. The participation of the Friends of EUSALP MEPs will highlight the political relevance of this debate and the will to support a process of mutual recognition of HVET titles.
The conference will be hosted by the Brussels Delegation of the Lombardy Region.
