EUSALP Action Group 3 (AG3) continues to advance its work on strengthening soft skills within work‑based learning systems across the Alpine Region. Two recent publications provide concrete guidance and operational tools to support training providers, tutors, and companies in developing competencies that are essential to the Alpine economy.
Summary Report – Recognition and Evaluation of Soft Skills in Work‑Based Learning (2024)
This publication presents a concise overview of the main outcomes of the 2022 report “Tools and guidelines for the identification and assessment of a set of soft skills related to work‑based learning and to the development of the Alpine economy.”
It highlights the common framework developed for identifying and assessing seven key soft skills, considered particularly relevant in work‑based learning contexts and for the long‑term competitiveness of the Alpine Region.

User Guide and Competence Units for Soft Skills Tools (2025)
The 2025 publication provides a comprehensive set of tools designed to support the observation and assessment of three selected soft skills:
- Creative and innovative thinking
- Communication
- Collaboration within teams and networks
Each Competence Unit includes all relevant tools for EQF levels 3 and 4, offering clear, practical support for:
- Training designers
- Training tutors
- Company tutors
- Teachers and pedagogical staff
The User Guide ensures coherent use of these instruments across training systems and supports the structured development of trainees’ soft skills.
