Discovery Sessions for Mountain Jobs in the Alps: Comparative Report of "Discover Mountain Jobs"

"Discover Mountain Jobs" is one of the key events of AG3.

So far, four discovery sessions have been carried out in the French Alps and one in Trentino (IT), with different formats, audiences and locations.

Each experience is rich in lessons learned:

• meeting professionals in their own field
• involving young people in developing the programme
• facilitating/enabling exchanges between the participants
• supporting them in developing their professional projects
• perceiving the encouragement and participation of all mountain stakeholders

These experiences showed that young people (with their uncertainties, expectations and values) are very interested in living and working in the mountains. Therefore, it is beneficial to organise this type of session by cross-referencing young people’s needs with those of the Alpine region.

To this end, this comparative report highlights the characteristics of each experience in order to support future projects that help young people discover mountain professions in Alpine countries.
