AG5 Work Plan 2026-2028

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

AG5 is the main implementer of Action 5 under Policy Pillar 2: Mobility and Connectivity of the revised EUSALP Action Plan. Its mandate is to “connect people digitally and promote accessibility to public services” across the Alpine Region.

Over the next three years, AG5 will focus on strengthening resilience and shaping a future view for the Alpine Region by driving digital transformation in mountainous areas, supporting the development of smart and sustainable communities, and promoting inclusive, human-centred approaches. AG5 will advance future-proof digital infrastructures, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity, both fixed and mobile, and robust data and HPC (high performance computing) facilities that can withstand Alpine hazards and support cross-border cooperation. AG5 will also foster the use of data and artificial intelligence to improve public services, such as water management, mobility, and e-health, making these services more accessible and effective for citizens and administrations.

Through flagship events, capacity building, and youth engagement, AG5 aims to build durable networks, encourage innovation, and ensure that digitalisation delivers real value for Alpine communities.
