INNOBIOVC

Innovation express for circular bioeconomy value chains

INNOBIOVC aims to roll-out 2 tools / solutions developed by previous Interreg projects:

  • The Innovation Express Call Scheme (IECS), developed by ARDIA-NET, is a widely acknowledged solution to facilitate cross-border cooperation by synchronizing existing regional funding schemes. IECS gained high reputation in 2021 allowing cross regional funding of innovation projects.
  • The Value Chain Generator (VCG.AI), developed by AlpLinkBioEco is a hands-on tool that helps to find partners along circular bioeconomy value chains (CB-VC). VCG.AI contains 1000s of company data and additional information for smart matching.

INNOBIOVC will combine IECS and VCG.AI to increase the impact of the next IECS. The use of VCG.AI will ensure that companies applying for the IECS are matched to others to jointly develop new circular products. One setting the scene activity will be included: The sustainable assessment tool (SAT). SAT allows to measure sustainability gains of circular products and will thus foster transnational cooperation by stimulating more public and private investments in CB-VC development.

The development of circular products is still a challenge. Potential partners along this new CB-VC don't know each other, investments are risky and existing regional support schemes stop at borders. There is a clear funding gap within the AS and the measurement of the impact of regional or entrepreneurial investments into the CB-VC is nearly impossible.

To overcome these challenges the existing solutions IECS and VCG will be combined with the SAT, enabling the measurement of the investments’ impact into the CB-VC. INNOBIOVC implements the next IECS among the PP regions with a dedicated focus on crossregional
funding of CB-VC development. This new circular products / solutions will be created and a higher CB-VC related investment rate will be achieved. The results will demonstrate to policy makers within the AS that cross-regional funding is possible and creates the desired impact.
