On 29 November 2016, the cornerstones of the work programme for the Bavarian presidency were presented to an interested public during an evening event in the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union in Brussels.
At the presence of the delegates of 5 alpine countries (Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, France and Germany), AG5 takes the first official steps.
The meeting serves to get a common idea among the co-leaders about the aims, working method and results of AG5 as well as to define the next steps.
The event was first referred to as the AG 5 kick off meeting. Nevertheless, terminology was changed since the meeting didn’t achieve the participation of the minimum number of Member States representatives required.
The Launch Conference of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) marks the move to the timely implementation phase of the Strategy, following its endorsement by EU leaders at the EU Council.
