
The first EU Mountain Hack, an international project marathon for sustainable mountain development, took place in the context of the third Annual Forum of the European Strategy for the Alpine Region at the Lombardy Region headquarters. The Mountain-Hack is promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research - MIUR as part of the school-university collaboration developed by UNIMONT - pole of Excellence located in Edolo of the University of Milan.
The EU #MountainHack that took place at the Lombardy Region buildings in Milan involved 96 secondary school students from 32 cities, 10 European regions and 4 Alpine countries in order to find innovative ideas for the development of the mountain territory. The EU #MountainHack underlined how the future of mountain areas depends on the strategic alliance between institutions, citizens and young people who are passionate and prepared.
The event, promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research - MIUR, is part of the actions envisaged by the National Digital School Plan and is part of a series of Hackathons entirely dedicated to the development of mountain areas, born within the Italian Mountain Lab project - FISR, special supplementary fund for MIUR research carried out by UNIMONT - pole of Excellence located in Edolo of the University of Milan.
