General Assembly
Mission
The General Assembly (GA) should mainly be responsible for laying down the general political guidelines for the Strategy. Furthermore, the General Assembly has the possibility of organising ministerial meetings in order to create the necessary political awareness for the Strategy.
Annually, the General Assembly can meet in an extended format, open to all relevant stakeholders (Annual Forum).
SI has reported on the conclusions adopted in the GA meeting that took place on 25 January. National and Regional representatives confirmed the overall responsibilities of the GA and their role; mainly focusing on laying down the general political guidance for the Strategy. They paid high importance to the governance structure of the Strategy, including the endorsement of the AGs Leaders as a pre-requisite for effective implementation. They called for the formation of the Executive Board to continue on excellent work done by the Steering Committee during the preparatory phase of the Strategy.
GA endorsed the appointment of the Action Group Leaders. GA entrusted EUSALP presidency in 2017 to Bavaria; Tyrol presented offer to take over EUSALP presidency in 2018.
