Activity dates:
January 2016 to December 2017
Action’s description:

In order to reach a climate-neutral building stock by 2050, the building sector must be considered. Important measures for the reduction of the need for thermal heat have to be taken – with the help of energy-efficient modernisation of buildings and also for new buildings. However, environmental impact respectively CO2 emissions do not only arise during the usage phase but already within the building phase as well as during disposal (keyword: “grey energy"). There are many publications regarding this topic, which come to differing conclusions according to perspective, balance limit and basic assumptions made. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology commissioned a study assessing the different types of constructions in regard to their total impact on the environment and their energy footprint in the course of their total life cycle duirng the Bavarian EUSALP presidency.
